Quotes About Strength

You are whoever you want to be. You just have to decide to be it.

Quote Posts @

Dear Readers!

I just want to take the time to let you all know about how I've been feeling today and past few days. I don't know what it is, maybe the fact that I did so well in my test :), maybe it's because it is spring (although the weather is a bit disappointing today), or it could be the fact that there is so much love in the air...All I know is that it's been a beautiful couple of days!

It feels so good to be happy!

A little tip that could make a major difference in your life: Enjoy the little things!
Remember always that happiness is not a destination, not a place at all, rather happiness is the journey You can be happy and content with life every day. All you have to do is choose to be happy. Be around people who make you happy, friends, family, spouse. Do things that make you happy, gym, reading a book, taking a walk, listening to music, shopping (Yes ladies and gents :)).
Most of all find your purpose in life and guaranteed you will be happier than you've ever been.

The following quote is so significant. Simple yet Profound! Yes.

Some advice: Do not confuse success with happiness. Success is sort of like an end point where as happiness is the drive there. Even if you not where you want to be, there's no reason to be unhappy. There are many reasons to be happy, I mean you're alive right? That's already one substabtial reason.

Anyways I'm happy today and I hope you are too! Let me know in the comments why you happy and also if you have any suggestions and tips on 'happiness inducing acts' then please leave me a comment below!

Peace. Love. Happiness.

5 Things I wish I could tell my Teenage Self!

Firstly I want to put it out there that I was not a bad teenager. I got 70% and above at school and I did sports. My weekends comprised of going to sports competitions and fun times here and there. So I wasn't a bad or rebellious teenager per say but I wish I did some things differently. I wish I knew then how life is now then I would have done more of certain things and less of others. Nevertheless I do not regret a second of my teenage life.

5 Things I wish to tell my Teenage Self:

  1. Friends and popularity. We all know that high school was mainly about if you were popular or not. I didn't care much about that and I thank my teenage self about it. Friends were a very big part of my life and still are. I'm still friends with about 3 or 4 of my high school friends if I'm not mistaken. I'm so glad that I learnt from a very young age that not everyone you meet or hang out with is a friend, not everyone will be your friend and that in reality you will have more acquaintances than you do friends. Don't try and make everyone like you. I'm proud of myself because I grasped this concept from a young age.
  2. Don't care about what people say about you, their opinions don't matter. People love to talk and most of the time it's all negative things they talk about. In High School especially gossip was quite big. So I'd like to say to my teenage self that Well Done! Well done for not caring much about what people thought and only caring about what your loved ones and close friends had to say. Also I learnt from a very young age of 7 in Grade 1 that people will dislike my sister and I off the bat because we were twins (Crazy right?!). So my mom taught us to shut that out especially because they would always make us feel bad because of how were were dressed (We dressed alike for a very long time - till the end of matric to be honest) and how we looked so alike and got lots of attention from people. And as I entered my teenage years that came naturally although the unnecessary and to be honest pathetic comments about us being twins and all the petty things they said about it continued, all I did was block it out and having my sister by my side made it tons easier!
  3. Life can be cruel, people can be cruel too but don't let that change who you are. Walk tall and keep your head up high. I was never bullied in high school but there was always that group of people who thought everyone feared them and always had a lot to say about other people. They were to an extent cruel people but regardless of those people, Stay true to you. Being you is the best you can be, don't let them change how and who you are. Those people are a very good lesson in life and great practice for the real life that comes after high school. Life can be cruel but if you learn from a young age to not let cruel things or cruel people affect you or change the type of person you are then you'll survive and strive in life, cruel or not.
  4. Relationships... It's okay to be single. Almost every girl in high school had a boyfriend. Throughout high school I was single because no one really caught my eye in terms of being a potential boyfriend. Other than the fact that my parents always told us to wait until we were out of high school to get boyfriends, there was a thought of "why am I single?". So I want to tell my younger self that, it is okay to be single. You experienced it, focused on other things in high school and waited for the "right" guy and Voila!!! Fast forward into varsity and You have the most amazing boyfriend and future husband you could have ever imagined.
  5. Be positive and see the good in everyone and everything. No matter what situation you're in stay positive. Cherish the the little things like hanging out with friends during break. Enjoy the free time you have because when you get to varsity, free time becomes a luxury. Most importantly continue to follow your dreams and passion and in all things, Never Give Up!
I'm proud of my teenage self, I wouldn't change a thing about it. I got good grades, did sports and even got my Protea (South African) colours in one of the sports I did, I kept my head up high, had amazing friends and enjoyed every bit of high school and of course the parties. I respected myself and that showed. I was confident and did what I had to do. Like I said there's not much I'd change as a teenager, overall I enjoyed my teenage years... loved every bit of it actually.

Motivational Collage

Here's my very own Motivational Collage that I did to help motivate me whenever I was feeling demotivated or defeated. What is a Motivational collage? Well it is a whole bunch of your favorite quotes that you find encouraging, pictures of inspiring things etc. basically anything that you find motivating, all on a piece paper or if you want it bigger then you can use a larger size paper. It's similar to a dream wall collage but not exactly. I will do a post about a dream wall art/collage soon. Motivational collages are a great way to keep you motivated on the go by taking it along with you wherever you are. You can make your own, make it all pretty, print it out and have a look at it everyday. This is just an example of one I made for you guys to see but you can make your own if you like.

You will need:

  • Paper (Any colour of your choice)
  • All sorts of coloured pens and decorative things.
  • Your favourite quotes
The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.
It's always too early to Quit.
True happiness involves the full use of ones power and talents.
Either you run the day or the day runs you.
The wise does at once what the fool does at last.
I can, therefore I am.
By failing to prepare you are preparing to fail.
Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift to God.
What you do today can improve all your tomorrows.
Set your goals high and don't stop till you get there.
The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

10 Short Facts about me...

I realized that I haven't really shared much about myself on this blog except my actually thoughts. So I figured I could do 10 short facts about me so you guys can get a slight idea of who I am. These are honest facts about me! I'll share more of myself as time goes.

10 Short Facts About Me:

  1. My full name is Khanyisile Nomathemba Ndebele but almost everyone calls me Khanyi. My mom calls me Kay!
  2. Born and raised (and Striving) in one of the most amazing countries (My personal opinion) - South Africa.
  3. I am a Medical Student.
  4. I am an identical twin and yes we both study medicine and have ALMOST similar lives!
  5. For me Family is the most important thing, second to God of course! I am Christian and strong in my faith. My family means the most to me, my family being my actual family and my boyfriend and close friends.
  6. I don't have many friends just because I don't believe everyone you meet or speak to or happen to bump into now and then is a friend. I have many acquaintances but a few friends that I can count on one or two hands at most. My friends mean the world to me and I'd do anything for them!
  7. I love animals, especially dogs! I grew up with dogs and can't imagine a life without one.
  8. I've always had dreams of travelling the world! I love travelling in general since my parents always made it a point for us to go to different places from a young age, to see what the world holds. I've been to 2 other countries - USA and Mozambique. My 'have to go to' countries are Dubai, Jamaica, The Bahamas, some countries in Europe, Morocco, some countries in the Middle East and all the Asian countries. Not to mention Mauritius, the Seychelles, Bora Bora, Maldives and Zanzibar!
  9. I love all types of music, as long as the beat is amazing! I have a sick obsession for classical music (please don't judge me).
  10. I have a passion for helping people. That is partly why I want to be a doctor. I have so many ideas and plans to help people and over time I will make all those ideas come to life. I started this blog to also help people mentally and emotionally, to inspire and encourage people to chase their dreams and succeed in all that they do. Any way I can help I want to. I volunteer now and then but I want to be involved in more volunteering things so I can be the change I would love to see in this world!
I hope this helps you ladies and gents know a little more about me. There will be more about me in the next few months.

Peace. Love. Happiness.
